Prayer to Lord Ganapathi

Vandeham Vighnanetharam Vighnanameva Shanthaye|

Samayanthi hi pararthaya sweeyanapi hi sajjanaha||

This is the first verse in Sri Swamiji’s Sachidananda Neethimala.

In order to eliminate all obstacles, I offer my homage to Lord Ganapathi, the master of all obstacles. Here, an antithesis is deliberately employed. The obstacles discharge their duties, and their master, Lord Ganapathi, allows them to perform their duties, as a matter of fact.

However, on account of my prayer, He must restrain His minions, the obstacles, from performing their obligations. Such a course of action is well within His powers, because the virtuous abstain from doing continuing with their commitments, in order to benefit others. By the same token, the virtuous and helpful Lord Ganapathi will compel His vassals to desist from hindering my endeavours.

Prayer to the Goddess Saraswathi

Nadevyakthaksharam Devim Vede vyakthaksharam param|

Om kara purva Aim kare sakaram noumi Saradam||

Energy subsists in a dormant and imperceptible state as sound. Such energy is termed Nada. When that imperceptible energy dons a visible form, it becomes the Veda. We worship this entire process, via the beejaksharaAim, which is the beejaksharaof the Goddess Saraswathi. We worship the Knowledge that has manifested from its imperceptible form. Om kara denotes the Para Brahma; and Aim kara connotes the deity of education, Goddess Saraswathi. Thus we worship these two entities, as one united form.

Prayer to the Lineage of the Guru

Sachidananda paryantham vande Guru paramparam||

The Gurutradition which originated with the Lord Dattatreya Swami, flourished and continued with Sri Narasimha Saraswathi and Sri Pada Vallabha. Pujya Sri Swamiji is the present incumbent in this lineage, and I offer my obeisance to this celebrated Guru lineage.

The Sadguru constitutes the physical manifestation of the Lords Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. Furthermore, He is the omnipresent Param Brahma. Salutations to such a great Sadguru.
